About Michelle Marceau, Founder

Michelle made her television debut at age nine in a Tropicana Orange Juice commercial and continued doing commercials throughout High School. While continuing her professional career, she received a BFA from Boston Conservatory in Drama and Dance. As a dancer she performed throughout Europe and the USA. On her return to the USA she had the distinct honor of becoming Joanne Woodward’s private ballet teacher for 3 years after which, she began her career as a choreographer/ actor with the National Shakespeare Company in NYC. She continued to perform and choreograph in commercials and Off Broadway and Broadway and toured with the American Dance Machine and acting in Soap Operas. The latter led to Michelle’s selection as the first permanent choreographer of Daytime Dramas which allowed her to work with such outstanding performers as BeBe Neuwirth and Susan Stroman. And for 8 years coached the “Lifestyle Guru” Martha Stewart. She helped create SRO Productions, a production company dedicated to bringing new works to Off Broadway.

Michelle, Director and Founder, created Greenwich Performing Arts Studio in 2000 as a way to “pay it forward”. Coming from a Theatrical family (Father – Actor, Director and Writer for TV, Mother – Actress / Dancer) allowed many doors to be opened for her. Her desire to help talented Youth has resulted in students being represented by Top Bi-Coastal Agents and Managers appearing on Broadway, in TV and Films and many Commercials.

Greenwich Performing Arts Studio was chosen out of 20,000 applicants to perform an Original Musical written by Michelle at Disney World in 2005 and she created a production based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences which was performed at the United Nations in 2006. Her most recent accomplishment was Directing the Musical “NEWSIES” and Assistant Director for “LEGALLY BLONDE” which was performed in a Broadway Theatre.

Greenwich Performing Arts Studio offers year round Programs and Workshops led by Industry Professionals and Broadway Directors and Producers.
